Unmoderated Greed Wakes Up A Sleepy Nation

Can you imagine a country rocked by the savagery of corruption and unmoderated greed? Can you imagine a nation of people who sat in silence while its coffers where plundered by a couple of unmitigated gall. A couple that had a cabinet whose pockets where far deeper.

This nation now reels from voices no longer still. A nation that has finally awoken after a long, memory gap. A nation whose people regularly troop to the streets to raise clenched fists, voices bellowing with shouts that may never be quenched.

The reluctant hero?

Who drove this once sleeping nation into a frenzy of activity? Who stirred a hornets nest of corruption and unmoderated greed? Who is Jun Lozada? What prompted him to finally step forward? Was it money? The promise of fame and fortune? Is Jun Lozada who he really says he is? If truly fearing for his life (each time he speaks infront of a crowd he tells them of more threats to his life) then why is he more in the public eye? Why is he making the rounds of schools? Why is he even courting a possible movie offer? He says he isnt interested, yet, but his brother certainly is doing his "marketing" for him.

None of his statements in the senate have been proven to be true…but neither have they been proven to be false. Most of what he has testified has been riddled full of holes by those he has accused. Sen. Santiago, no less, put Lozada under the microscope when she revealed that Jun Lozada himself had used his position in government to further his dealings. He used government funds as well as benefitted his own family. Lozada has not denied the accusations of the good senator. So, who is Jun Lozada reallY? What prompted him to surface? Why now?

He said, She said

Unfortunately for the Senate, Jun Lozada seems to have them wrapped around his equally stained finger. He has been able to sway them into believing that he is the "victim" and is "only trying to save the country…" (in his own words.) He has repeatedly said that no less than the President is deeply involved in the ZTE scandal which is now rocking her office. He continues to sing his songs, and other than the repeated denials and counter accusations of the Palace weavers nothing is really worth going to the streets for.

Do we now believe every word of Jun Lozada? Do we now act because he says so? Aren’t the courts enough? Shouldn’t we try this in the proper forum instead of "trial by publicity?"
